T O P I C R E V I E WRunAroundScreamingSo, I've noticed a lot of best friends and lovers having either square or opposite signs. In my own life, being a cancer, I have experienced the chemistry and passion present between libras and aries and I, as well as a few capricorns, but the passion ran higher with the squares. Since in astrology, having square sun signs is so terrible, it fascinates me how they get along and have so much chemistry. I think the square sign attraction as well as the opposite sign attraction can be described by the following: quote:Your relationship is dynamic and energizing. You challenge each other to grow and develop, but unfortunately the process tends to be abrasive and frustrating. That's from grupovenus.com's description of the sun square sun synastry aspect. I feel that this is a relationship of opposites attracting. They find each other fascinating and can't get enough of each other, but at the same time, they don't mix well together and tensions and misunderstandings between them can be high. Passions between them also run high, but unfortunately, the lack of trust and the high misunderstanding is so likely because since you are opposites, you don't understand much about how the other person works.Share your stories and/or opinions Just some fun pictures which may or may not reflect reality haha Squared/opposite signs Pisces-Sagittarius-Gemini Squared signs Pisces-Sagittarius squared signs Leo-Scorpio squared signs Aries-Cancer squared signs Leo-Taurus------------------"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage." - Lao Tzu$3.50 ebay compatibility readings | testimonials | Past readingsLava FlowerI am a Taurus sun and the person I feel closest to is an Aqua sun. We get along great, we have our differences, but he just gets me, he makes me feel alive unlike any other. Our suns are binovile though. CAY_512My husbands Sun and my Sun are in opposition. Our mercury signs are in opposition as well.I was thinking about relationships today and I don't understand how people get into relationships with a lot of trines or conjunctions. To me it would be boring. My husband is so different from me and its stimulating. We have trines & conjunctions involving Mars, Venus & Jupiter though. Also, 4th, 8th, 12th & 11th house overlays on both sides.aquaguy91theres definitely an attraction between us aquas and scorps, but physical attraction is as far as it goes usually.sandI love them but I know exactly why. I want the conflict lol! I'm still looking for that Scorpio lady to dance with..RegardesPlateroI tend to get along better with people who have placements in signs that square my sun sign (I'm a Libra) if that placement is the sun. That is, I can get along with Capricorn and Cancer suns, as well as Aries, which is opposition. However, I have much more difficulty with people whose signs are square mine if their placements are not the sun. (Example: I have difficult with Capricorn Moon, Capricorn Venus, and have yet to have a lasting friendship with Cancer Venus; I've tried several times with different people of that placement and it has never worked. You'd think that it would, given that I have Scorpio Venus and get along well with Pisces Venus, but nope). I haven't encountered enough non-sun Aries placement people to judge, though I get along fairly well with someone who has Mars in Aries. I do get along well with other Cancer moons, though. I feel like they get me like Libra suns do.More and more, I feel like it's where the sign is that matters for me, and not so much the sign itself. Capricorn works better for suns than in other positions for me, to give one example. Gemini works better for me if it's the sun/Mercury rather than the moon. I can get along with influence of any sign, but it just has to be in the right place for me. Same goes with all of the other signs and planets.AscTaurusSquares are great for attraction but can be detrimental over time(if you two forget that it was your differences that brought you two together in the first place)Trines are great to start off with but over time you two can end up taking each other for granted and switching between brother/sister relationship and casual friends. You must remember to celebrate your common qualities.Oppositions are great for initial attraction(like squares), only thing is there will be a push/pull between you two your whole relationship. Sometimes you'll LOVE each other and at other times you can wonder what on earth drew you to your partner. It can get unstable.Conjunctions are great if you have resolved your own issues and can bare someone showing you your own idiosyncracies within the relationship. If not, stay away.Sextiles are almost perfect. Thing is, it is easy for you two to forget that you are from differing elements because you "blend" so well. At times you'll push each other to be "more like the other" whilst forgetting that it was your different approaches that attracted you(much like squares).Semi-sextiles can feel like the one ahead(in the zodiac wheel) is too serious whilst the one behind can often appear, to the other, to be "childish" and undeveloped. A great deal of patience is required. Much like having to deal with an older(or younger) brother/sister within the relationship. The Quincunx can feel "fated".You two almost "know" there is very little in common that you have but you just can't help it. The awkward silences dominate the relationship a lot-since you both struggle to relate each other from both an elemental(fire/water earth/air) level as well as energy(feminine/masculine).But there is a point- an amazing point, where everything just seems to "work" and that moment can make up for all those weird silences and make you think "I like him/her".frankie2912 quote:Originally posted by RunAroundScreaming:So, I've noticed a lot of best friends and lovers having either square or opposite signs. This is a true testament of what humans can do. But, I have also noticed a process that relationships go through, before the true quality of the relationship appears. It is a three year process.--> The first year - each partner is on his/her best behavior mode. You are learning each other, so everything is new and fresh and amusing. They are accepting each other for what they are.--> The second year - each partner begins to notice the irritating qualities of the other. But, each individual will not tell the other person what is bugging them. Each individual is internalizing problems.--> The third year - this is the year that the true quality of the relationship will appear, for better or for worst. If, in the second year, there were a lot problems about the other, bugging him or her - then this is the year that the individual will start voicing displeasure to the other, from here and on into the future. The fights will start happening now. On the other hand, if things were running smoothly during the second year - then the third year will follow suit from here into the future. This would also be true for many working relationships.ASTROLOGICALLY SPEAKING:The square influence is notorious for being misread as a conjunction when people first meet. It is only, after a few years have past, that some people will begin to investigate why the relationship has gone wrong. This when the results will show them, that their up beat relationship is actually full of squares and conjunctions and oppositions with the wrong planets. (The three year process - above - has taken affect.) Just take a look at this website, it has plenty of people in this situation. It is a fact, that squares, stressful conjunctions and, oppositions are part of nearly all Astrological charts. And there is little that can alter the natal chart aspects. But the relationship charts can and do vary. More favorable aspects can be included in any relationship, if the individuals are willing to search for them. Whenever possible, it is best to avoid the squares. If we are speaking solely on Synastry Astrology, then the influence is different. We are looking at aspects as the determining factor. All Astrology aspects are formed in time cycles. Your Mars can not be conjunct, sextile, square, trine and, opposition another person's Venus at the same time. It can only be one of those aspects at any given time. This is the result of timing. Therefore, Astrologically speaking, it is very possible to be very compatible to someone quite a bit younger or older than you. And this is more common than most Astrology buffs realize. slowpoke http://astro.cafeastrology.com/cgi-bin/astro/comp2f http://www.astrologyfiles.com/free-horoscope-matching/ Slowpoke's Aspects To Live For http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/202766.html Slowpoke's: Synastry Aspects - Void of Planet Linkages http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/214576.html RunAroundScreamingSlowpoke, I have to say I disagree. Sorry.slowpokeNo problem, RunAroundScreaming.HeraAries Sun. Libras, never again, not even severely altered by various substances (which almost never happens lately). Cancers.. that would be my boss. We don't exactly mix well. My best roommie ever was a Cancer though, I miss her lots. Never dated the sign (yet) though I have it on DC. Capricorns.. interesting. Those I HAVE dated. Intriguing. My Asc is also there. Eventually didn't work out coz the ones I dated were kind of weirdos. Maybe 3rd is the charm(er). Would still go for someone with plenty of Fire though.. Squares might be attraction/friction, but trines/conjunctions rule. OliviaaaI'm a (late) Libra. 28 degrees, to be exact. All my best friends in school growing up were Cancers. As were a lot of my crushes! I've always, always been drawn to that sign. Like a moth to a flame. As I got older I started to feel a draw to some Capricorns, but nothing that compared it to the one with the Cancers. In terms of relationships, it's been Aries and Taurus. Making oppositions to my stellium and falling in my 7th.. strongly attracted to those types. The thing they all have in common though is the fact none have really ended or turned out too well! But, they all have made an impact on me and left me with something I can never forget. And, messed me up to a degree... if that makes sense. What I've felt with all of them.. the connection and emotions of it all; I have to feel that EVERYtime I have a friendship/relationship now. Anything less won't do. So... the Trine and Sextile signs, while.. yeah.. might get along.. I need that passion and electricity I felt with the square and opposite signs.RunAroundScreamingoliviaaa agreed curious, why dont u date cancers thoenchantress299You know... I've dated signs that squared mine (a Gemini and Sagittarius respectively), but I can honestly say that the passion wasn't near the levels of passion I've had with the signs that sextile mine (Scorpio and Cancer). I almost feel like they are too much like me for me to feel that way (most of my chart is mutable- 6 planets). Plus my Mars and DC are in fixed signs (which unfortunately rarely work out for me because I am so mutable and they are usually very fixed), so the other mutable signs just don't hold that allure for me. That's why I'm usually confused when everyone else is always going around in squared sun sign relationships saying how passionate they are. I haven't actually seen that, even with some of the friends I know who are in close romantic relationships. The square relationships usually have passion on a physical level, but that's it... And then they start fighting. It can work, but it rarely does. Oddly, I do see people in sextile relationships and also in neighboring sign relationships have a better and easier time of it.Now, I will say I have seen the square friendships and business partnerships working out much better. I haven't really thought about why that is though... So yeah, I still think it has more to do with what aspects a person has to their relationship planets in their charts and what they're lacking, etc. OliviaaaI'm not opposed to dating Cancers! I would.. actually, I'd love to have a romantic relationship with a Cancer guy. For the experience if nothing else! But, the times where I crushed.. one was already a taken man(didn't know at the time) and the other was already pursuing something with someone else, so.. timing was off. Then in grade school.. don't really count that. But I'm 21, so I have time!amowls**You may feel good chemistry with Libras and Aries because you are Libra Rising (Libras would fall into your first so there's familiarity, Aries fall into your house of relationships). I'm an Aqua Sun. My best friend has a Scorpio stellium (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Pluto). Best guy friend is a Taurus Sun. I've never dated either Sun sign, but I am attracted to Scorp Risers because they usually conjunct my Vertex. I have dated Leos and Leo Risings.RunAroundScreaminggood points amowl, but i know a lot of libra risings with fire moons like myself who arent drawn to aries or libra------------------"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage." - Lao Tzu$3.50 ebay compatibility readings | testimonials | Past readingsAquacheekaI get along well with Taurus women.
